A Decent Starter Set My 8 year old wanted an electric train for Christmas, but I wasn’t prepared to make the $100+ commitment to a “real” electric train until I saw how he liked it. Once we got it set up, he was thrilled. We set it up on a linoleum floor (and later moved it to a table surface).
