Not the Typical Shape Stacker … “Melissa & Doug Counting Shape Stacker” is not the usual shape stacker. It combines recognizing geometric shapes, color differences, number recognition, and associating numbers with the same quantity of items. Sorting and sequencing come into play as the child must separate shapes and place them in the correct position. The stacking shapes are small enough for little hands to manipulate them easily. MANY ways to play with this bright, fun, and educational toy. This is a surprisingly fun toy. I wasn’t 100% sure my kids were going to love it, but, wow, they really do. And I’m surprised by how many different ways they’ve come up with to interact with it. They count ALL the pieces together, and they count the pieces while they are on their individual wooden dowels. They take all the pieces off and then sort them by color and shape. They match the number tiles to the individual stacks. They “teach” each other about counting and which numbers come…
