Build a real working roller coaster

With clear and easy-to-follow step by step instructions, you can build your own real working roller coaster! Standing at just under three feet tall, the roller coaster is a miniature model of a real roller coaster and makes a great addition or display to a child’s bedroom or playroom. Suitable for boys or girls, the kit teaches engineering and physics fundamentals.

Real motorized parts

The included battery-powered motor (requires 2 AA batteries, not included) powers the track that lifts the motor car up the roller coaster track’s slope. After setting the car on the track, let the motor and chain mechanism do the work as the car ascends the track! Once it reaches the top, gravity does the work of sending the car shooting down the twisting and turning roller coaster track. Once it reaches the bottom, the chain lifts the car to start the cycle over!

Product Features

  • ✔ BUILD A 3-FOOT-TALL ROLLER COASTER: The FAO Schwarz Build-a-Coaster set includes everything you need to create a fully functioning miniature roller coaster! Standing impressively at just under three feet, the roller coaster makes a great learning activity that teaches patience and hands-on engineering.
  • ✔ MOTORIZED MOVING CHAIN AND TRACK: The battery-powered motor powers a chain loop that carries the roller coaster car up the rail and to the point of descent. After you set the car up on the track, the motor and gravity work together to continuously power the car, so step back and watch it work!
  • ✔ 753 PIECES FOR A TRUE CHALLENGE: Recommended for ages 8+, a full 753 pieces provides hours of challenging and rewarding fun. Let your child work alone, with friends, or with you as they follow the provided step-by-step instructions.
  • ✔ GREAT STEM LEARNING ACTIVITY: Teach your child the basics of engineering and physics as they build the foundation of the roller coaster and install the motorized parts and track. They’ll learn about gravity and physics as the self-maintaining roller coaster design loops the car back and forth!
  • ✔ OPEN-ENDED CUSTOMIZABLE DESIGN: After building your roller coaster, proudly display it! When you’re done, disassemble it and use the pieces to build whatever else you can imagine-the sky’s the limit!

Horrible directions, cheap garbage This seemed like it would be so fun. Instead, it’s an exercise in frustration, and now my fingers hurt. The instructions are horrible and often the photos do not match the pieces they tell you to use. In different steps, the images will show different parts completely, so you can’t tell which is right. I was ready to throw it out after the first step, fortunately (or not) my husband had more patience.Once we got it built, it took a lot of messing around just to get the track aligned…

DO NOT BUY!! I’m only on step 2 and I want to throw this thing in the trash. The instructions are absolute junk!1. The instructions are not drawn to scale, so when it says to use a certain size piece, you can’t match the picture with the piece. The picture actually matches closely with another piece, which is not the right one!2. The pictures look to be cut/paste images of the same part, slightly photoshopped to cut off pieces the didn’t want in the picture. This makes it almost impossible to…

DO NOT PURCHASE TERRIBLE! What a terrible knock off of Knex. I felt like giving my little brother something new to try out instead of video games so I saw this toy and thought I’d give it a try. I played with knex back when I was growing up and this looked pretty similar.. We both worked for 3 hours trying to figure this thing out only for it to not work at all! The motor would eat the chain and just destroy our hard work.! The thing is super flimsy and the parts would just fall apart! DO. NOT. BUY. THIS…
