I mean *I* think it’s awesome. But my 5yo hasn’t touched it once I mean *I* think it’s awesome. But my 5yo hasn’t touched it once. She is so unimpresseed with this, it’s as if we never gave it to her. It is on her toy shelf but it might as well not even exist. In honesty, this is more of a novelty than it is an actual tool for teaching and practicing sewing skills. To do that, you really just have to get out a dull needle, some burlap, and some bright embroidery floss and actually get the kids sewing. They’re usually ready around age 5.
The string is way too long for a small child … The string is way too long for a small child to use. In order for them to get the string tight around the block, they have to pull the string farther than their arms will reach. Also many of the holes are rough around the edges, snagging the string. Other than those things the item is decent. I wish the string was a tad shorter and someone smoothed out the holes.
decent quality, good motor skills toy decent quality, the holes have a few rough edges, nothing a quick pass with some sandpaper couldn’t fix. my 2 year old doesn’t quite get the mechanism yet, he can sew through but its difficult to undo so I usually have to reset it. good busy toy, it’s small so it would probably do well for a grocery trip. maybe not in a car, the string when completely undone is a little long, would not leave smaller children unattended.
