Finally something made well enough to last This is a wonderful set to give to a little girl. The dolls themselves are on about 1/2 inch thick wood, and the dresses/shirts/skirts/bows/crowns/extras are on wood a little less than 1/4 inch thick. Finally something I do not have to worry about breaking. It comes in a nice wood container, but there is no lid for it. The dolls stand up using the wood blocks shown in the picture just below the dolls. The magnets are not really strong, but strong enough for this purpose.
