On two sides of each block the letters are slightly raised and painted in cheerful red, blue, green, or yellow, with a border for emphasis. It is packaged in a beautiful, dove-tail constructed wooden box with a clear slide off lid. This a playroom heirloom destined to be passed down from generation to generation. For ages 19 months+.

Not as described I think the blocks are very nice but they are not as described. The description say “Complete alphabet, numbers 0-9 and stylized objects including animals, fruit, flowers and toys on big, sturdy 1.75-inch blocks”. There are no numbers or stylized objects – just the alphabet. we bought them for both numbers and letters.
Schylling Alphabet Block I was very excited to get this item so I could spell out things for my photo-shoots…I am very sad to say that the one and only time I went to use it, there is no letter “Z”…how do you have alphabet blocks with no letter Z?I had to turn an N upside down and use it as the Z… It was ok but looked a little funny you could tell it was not a “Z”The second problem I had was the yellow is really hard to see. The yellow block letters…
The blocks were pretty worn out when they got to my youngest brother … These blocks are reminiscent of my childhood and that of my brothers and sister. The blocks were pretty worn out when they got to my youngest brother who is now 41 and twenty years younger than me. We always had fun building with these blocks. I purchased them for my granddaughter who is too young to play with them yet, but we are ready for when she is. These are of good quality and I would recommend them to other buyers.
