Steel marbles roll around…. Look closely at the picture on the box. You will see that there are strings that are connecting the middle structure to the furthest away part of the rails. The reason for this is that the rails are not very rigid and without the strings, the rails will deflect so much due to the weight of the marble that they will fall off. Fun educational toy The set was a little intimidating for my 9 year old son when he got it. He built a couple of roller coasters of his own design that were not very good and then didn’t play with this toy for a month. I decided to help him by putting together the elevator and that’s when he started loving it. Every week he makes a very complex roller coaster and mixes this set with an icoaster set with the most amazing results. We clean it up on Saturdays and he starts a completely new design for the week…
Fantastic Toy Terrific toy. My three boys ages 5-7 play with it non-stop. They really enjoy reconfiguring the coaster. We’ve had the toy over a month and they have not broken it.
