The Pitsco Roller Coaster Track Kit provides students in grades 3-12 a hands-on activity to design, build, and experiment with a model roller coaster that demonstrates the scientific concepts of potential and kinetic energy, gravity, g-force, slope, velocity, and limits of safety, and it includes one length of rubber track and a variety of balls for experiments with different roller coaster designs. The kit comes in four different track lengths (20 feet, 30 feet, 40 feet, or 50 feet) for a variety of classroom experiments. The track is made of flexible extruded rubber, which is highly elastic and resists abrasion and impact forces. The kit includes two 3/4-inch metal balls, two 1-inch wooden balls, and two 1-inch polyoxymethylene (POM) balls to use as roller coaster cars. An included activity guide provides instructions to build model roller coasters as well as several activities with reproducible student pages. The kit reinforces engineering, technology, and math concepts as students experiment with model roller coaster designs. A roller coaster track is typically used in an educational setting to demonstrate potential and kinetic energy, gravity, and g-force.

Construction requires scissors (sold separately). Track stands, track pads, and hook-and-loop fasteners are available in the Pitsco 35233 Roller Coaster Track Stands Package (sold separately).

Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.

Pitsco Education develops K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum, educational kits, and classroom tools. The company, founded in 1971, is headquartered in Pittsburg, KS.
