We feel like engineers! My seven year old got this kit for Christmas. He had some limited experience with Knex, and some more experience with Legos. I knew that I would be helping him to assemble the project, because the recommended age is 9. I’ll admit that when I saw the instruction manual, I was daunted. But we simply started and we followed the booklet step by step. The instructions are very clear, but it is important to take note of all the details and get it right. We had to reposition a couple of pieces when it became clear that we had got them installed incorrectly. The best part was working together with my son. He could do so much of it on his own that he felt proud of himself. I just had to supply the encouragement and slow him down enough to check his work carefully. I also had to help snap some of the connections together for him. His little fingers got sore after an hour of assembly. There is no way he could have done it alone. The pieces are easy to lose and he needed to have the pieces…
