Follow the color-coded instructions to build this exciting dueling roller coaster over 3.5 feet high. Then switch the motor and sound module on to bring the model to life. The motorized chain lift quickly carries opposing cars on separate tracks to the top. As they crest the peak, they trigger the motion-activated sound module which results in coaster sounds & screams. The toy that RUINED CHRISTMAS! After raising three boys, I’ve never had any frustration assembling toys, ever. This one just totally stunk. Yes, over 1,100 pieces, with ZERO extras thrown in. So if your kids are able to assemble this in a sterile room with no carpeting (or sofa cushions, or other presents, or paper, or pets, etc.) then you’re good-to-go. I think this is REALLY irresponsible on the company’s part, especially for a toy rated as 9+ age appropriate. As for the simple instructions, they become a nightmare into,…
Nightmare to assemble This toy was horrible to put together. I am not kidding when I say the first night I had dreams about building all night. It is somewhat cute when put together, but we are still having to tweak it and this is day 3.
Roller Coaster Tycoon! We bought the K’NEX Hornet Swarm Dueling Coaster for our six-year-old son this Christmas. I knew it was rated for an age 9+ child, but I also knew I would be helping him to build it. The age rating was very accurate, as most kids in the age 5-to-7 range probably would struggle mightily and give up on the assembly. We spent a good part of a Sunday afternoon and evening putting it together and finished it all in one day.
