our first k’nex my son received this as a gift; he’s too young for it’s target age(7+) but his 9 & 11 year old sisters went to work building it. We are a Lego family, not K’nex so this is a new type of building for us, but honestly I’d say might be a tough build for a 7 year old unless he or she has a lot of K’nex background. Actually, the connector/stick part of the coaster was pretty straightforward, it was just adding the coaster track that was problematic. It kept snapping off its connection points…

very nice set Can’t share the majority’s frustration. I bought this for my 4 year old and we already assembled/disassembled the coaster 10 times probably. Every time it holds firm, my son can do almost the whole thing himself and likes to re-do it so much. Then break apart and do again. He only needs help with the tracks and chain. For the price, I gave it a chance. I had purchased another K’NEX roller coaster a few months ago (Firestorm Freefall Coaster) and despite the low ratings on this product decided to try it anyway. I don’t know why people are having a hard time with this product. My son who just turned 7 had a hard time focusing on building it and I had to help him with some of the assembly of parts, but that is more of a ADD issue than the product.
