Fun for dedicated builders When I got this kit, I expected my 9 year old son to be overjoyed. He’ll spend hours building models with Legos, so I expected him to enjoy this new style of building materials.
It has positive features, also some drawbacks In general, I approve of this kind of toy because it is an open-ended creativity toy. Kids can build anything they want. Similar building toys would be tinker toys, legos and erector sets. I approve of all of these toys in theory. In real life, I am not so crazy about the K’nex.
Fun to Connect – Instructions are Tricky I got these for my 11 year old son. This is rated for 7+ – and as much as 7 year olds might enjoy connecting these pieces in creative ways – the instructions may be extremely frustrating if they are trying to construct the 70 projects as shown.
