In the Thomas & Friends DVD, Journey Beyond Sodor (sold separately and subject to availability), Thomas finds a special scrapyard on the Mainland, and now children can relive the excitement of his discovery with this thrilling train set inspired by the movie. The TrackMaster Scrapyard Escape Set from Fisher-Price lets kids send motorized Thomas up towards the moss-covered ledge, and just when it looks like he can’t go any further, the cables drop to provide a safe crossing! But Thomas isn’t free from danger yet. After navigating the cable bridge, he enters the Scrapyard shack, where a large machine cog falls into his cargo car. He speeds forward, but there’s a gap in the tracks! It looks like Thomas will tumble over the edge… until, at the final moment, a hill shoots out from beneath the shack, offering Thomas a safe route down. The journey continues as the No. 1 blue engine speeds around a curve, and a machine arm snatches the cog from his cargo car, then drops it in the cargo holder. Children can enjoy a world of exciting motorized action as they experience Thomas’ courageous escape again and again!

My 3 year old and 2 year old sons love this toy My kids aren’t huge Thomas the Train fans but they sure love this toy. Contrary to what other reviews say, there are many things you can do with this train set other than watch the train go around. First, you can automatically load gears on to Thomas’s cargo car as he drives through and then you can have another device that snatches the gear off the cargo car. Second, you can push in one of the hills and it’ll pop out just as Thomas is about to go down said hill. My kids have a blast seeing the…

Wish it included Whiff or Scruff train My son is a Thomas and Friends train aficionado. He has dozens and dozens of these trackmaster trains. And I have to admit, they are really, really good toys. Dependable, sturdy, batteries last a good long time, and not overly noisy. This Scrapyard set is typical of most trackmaster train sets in that it contains a certain expanse of tracks to make a loop, one part of which involves a movement mechanism, in this case, the cable bridge which drops down. Most of the interaction the child has…

Lots of Train Play Great toy! We put it together in about 10 minutes. This set has a lot of ways to play. The included Thomas train picks up and drops off the cargo on its own. It has already given hours of entertainment and connects to the tracks we already have to build bigger sets..
