Good introductory eurogame with unusual theme Had a friend show me this at a local con (Marmalade Dog, in Kalamazoo). He got it for his son, and could keep his attention. Essentially a resource management game, but your resources are randomly-drawn elements used to assemble chemical compounds to score points. Loved it! Great for teachers Amazing game! I’m a graduate chemist and I loved it. It doesn’t require you to know much about chemistry, but if you do, it’s easier and a lot funnier. I’d recommend this game anytime to anyone trying to teach basic chemistry, since it gives a general idea of the scientific method and the stability of many compounds.

A fun way to learn about chemistry! We ended up resorting to watching a couple of Youtube videos to get the rules of the game figured out, but it didn’t take long and we were off and running. The periodic table is used as the scoreboard and I was sort of hoping to complete the entire periodic table, but the game ends when someone hits 50 atomic points – which is barely halfway through the periodic table (or completes their labs, etc.- there are several ways to win the game). Wanting the game to be longer is a good thing though…
