My 5 year old loves it!

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:00 Mins I was a bit hesitant to buy this train for my 5 year old after reading some of the reviews but he really wanted it! I bought it for him and he’s been playing with it nonstop for the past few weeks and we’ve only changed the battery once! He’s in love with his trains and this has become his favorite!

Switch is hard for toddler, but the engine is strong and works with IKEA tracks Pros: We were looking for a better engine after buying a motorized Percy (Thomas and Friends). Percy wasn’t very strong and routinely gets stuck on the IKEA tracks because it sits too low. This one was perfect in that respect. Plus, it could easily pull our little one’s 16 cars around the track and even up ramps!Cons: Slider switch is nearly impossible for my toddler to use because of the fact that it can go in reverse. Thomas runs the best. The power switch may be a bit too … while it is ok on the flat surface, it is way too underpowered for it to climb the bridge. Only the back wheels spin, thus giving less traction and the train is too light. Between Brio (this one), Hape (same issue as Brio) and Thomas, Thomas runs the best.The power switch may be a bit too difficult to control (between forward and backward movement) for the younger kids.
