Best toy for the money! Brought this to my granddaughter, who is 2 yrs & 3mo old. She caught on right away and was able to pull the letters off the rope and then put them back on. The wooden peg makes it easy and once she got her first letter on the rope, she just beamed. After a while she pulled the entire rope around behind her and then took the letters off and lined them up on her table. Versatile, durable toy that will keep toddlers occupied for a long time!

Great for fine motor skills! I got this set 3 years ago for my daughter with severe autism. She had absolutely no interest at the time. So after a couple of weeks trying to get her to do lacing, I gave up and stored it away. Now my daughter is 5. We started to use this toy in “functional play” program for her behavior therapy. To my surprise, she mastered it in less than 2 weeks. Now my daughter would even play with this string set on her own to calm herself down.

Much better than M&D! We purchased these for my son for christmas after using them at our local children’s museum. My son loves using the wooden needle to thread the beads along and now that we are working on letter sounds building some words. The colors are bright and attractive. I love the fact that the alex brand uses a lace with a wooden needle at the end. It really makes it easier for little hands to manipulate. When he has playdates kids tend to gravitate towards this toy which I keep stored in a tin bucket…
