The doll itself is great. Really soft and cute – but the technology … The doll itself is great. Really soft and cute – but the technology is really outdated here. For $20 dollars, you get ONE SONG. On top of that, the song is modified from the original version, meaning younger kids are confused at the end. If you are going to offer only once choice, at least make it one the is universally recognized instead of this drivel. Well loved by a raving Elmo fan Our toddler developed a fascination for Elmo (aka “Melmo”), despite having never seen Sesame Street. Kudos to you, Sesame Street marketing team. Anyway, we picked up this doll as a distraction for an upcoming trip, hoping it would buy us some time on the plane. She was great and we didn’t have to bust it out until the return trip, at which point her eyes lit up and she gave Elmo a big hug. Egh. Wouldn’t do it again, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad product Quality of the… doll? Elmo? Not sure what exactly to call it, but it’s good. Obviously my daughter loves it. The downside is 90% of the time I’m just hearing the ABC’s over and over again. The reason I bought this was for a seemingly broader selection of sayings…it doesn’t really work out that way. The good news is the voice box is easy to pull when you really get tired of it. Oh, and a selector for volume would have been nice…this thing is pretty loud.
