All aboard This was an Easter basket gift for a 7 year old train enthusiast. He worked on the train for two days. He painted one side then let it dry before painting the other. He was able to do this project independently. He loved being able to create his own train. I would be careful with young children, the paint is not washable. The train itself had no rough edges and is good quality for the price point of $5. All materials were included.
Great What’s not to love? You get all the materials to complete a craft AND a fully functional wooden toy for $5.My son just turned 3 and was able to do this on his own. I only helped with instructions on how to put it together. He was fully focused for about an hour. And the pain cleaned up easily with water.Very easy, no prep activity.
Good project – not a long lasting toy A little cheaper quality than we’ve come to expect from Melissa and Doug, but really, it was mostly an afternoon project! Our 3yo son LOVED it, and really enjoyed painting it, but it doesn’t really work well enough to use it as a toy. Oh well. $5 is cheaper than a movie ticket, and kept him interested for a long time! He also likes to repaint things that he has already painted, in a different color. It’s like “going to the Steamworks” on the Thomas show. So we’ll pull it out again for a…
