Great if everything works… I have decided to write a review based upon my experience. I found it on sale on Amazon.com and immediately ordered it. I was excited when I got it home and got it set up. However, after some use, the problems began. I put the smoke fluid in the smoke unit (I have other Lionels, so I know how to do this correctly), but it never really puffed like my other trains. Cute Train / With Problems Cute Train. As others have noted, Lionel has a problem with the coupling system which they still have not addressed. My train is on a flat floor with no impediments and the cars just do not remain coupled. I’m surprised that Lionel would risk their name and that Disney would allow their name to be used on a product that is obviously manufactured with little or no on-site quality control and assurance. I paid around $434.00 for the train and extra track. I would not buy this train again and…
Dont waste your money! This train sucks! We ordered 2 separate ones – trying to believe that the short was a one time mistake, and the 2nd train was just a s crappy. Lionel customer service was no help, they offered to fix it for us if we shipped it back to them – in +/- 10 days! Oh and that after we were on hold for 30 minutes before they even took the call…. Too bad that a once venerated brand has fallen so far in quality.
