Makes great sound, may require supervision The package is a little smaller than I expected at first, but it packs a punch. I purchased this for a one-year old and thus far it’s been a couple weeks and she loves it. It’s easy for her to make clear sounds with all the toys (the xylophone and jingle bells are favorites). Some items are only suitable under direct supervision. For example she is not allowed to play with the drumsticks or stacking rings alone because the smallest fits ring in her mouth easily and we don’t want her falling…
Holds up against toddler assault My daughter loved this set!! I was pleasantly surprised by how well it’s held up (my daughter likes to stab at the drum with the drum stick… Oy vey!) My only concern was that there was a ring tower that had peices that were too small and had to be put away. Otherwise, it’s been perfect for Sunday morning dance parties!
musical instruments are REALLY great… but stacking toy is choking hazard I got these for my almost one year old grandbaby. Although she is too young to understand how to manage the castanets, she LOVES all of the musical toys, especially the jingle bell shakers and the maracas! (NOTE however that the “bonus” stacking toy is not good for a very small child. It is very small… less than 6 inches tall which means that the smallest ring is about as big around as a quarter, so it presents a choking hazzard, and the slender dowel rod that the rings stack…
