Ideal Classic Mancala is a Board Game with Folding Wooden Gameboard and Glass Game Pieces that provides hours of entertainment and is a great way for children to learn and teach strategy. Mancala is a game played around the world, sometimes called “sowing” games, or “count-and-capture” games, which describes the game play. Players begin by placing (4) stones in each of the pits on the game board. A player may count their stones to plot the game. A turn consists of removing all stones from a pit and placing one in each of the following pits in sequence. If the last stone is placed in a player’s own Mancala, then he gets a second turn. Players may not touch the stones to count them and once a player has touched the stones, he must play them. Play ends when one player’s (6) bins are empty. Ideal’s Classic Mancala is designed for 2-players, measures 8.87-Inch by 1.5-Inch by 5.75-Inch and includes a folding wooden game board, (48) glass game pieces and instructions. Recommended for children 8-years of age and older.

Fun but board is too small Fun game that my daughter and I enjoy playing. However as others have stated the bins are too shallow for the glass stones that are used. The bins really only comfortably fit 4 of the starter stones, any more spill out. And on a more minor note, the game board itself is a natural pine finish and not a cherry look as pictured on the box. The wood itself is very nice though. All in all we will have to find a replacement for the stones.

Made of wood with nice smooth clear stones The quality of this product was ok. Made of wood with nice smooth clear stones. The hinges for the wooden case work, but they sometimes get stuck in one position and it is difficult to close. I purchased these to use with my students. I have found better quality for the same price.

Nice gift My daughter learned to play mancala in summer camp so we got this board for her. she takes it everywhere. she absolutely loves it. we all learned how to play it so she’s very happy. Its a nice wooden board with smooth surface. My one complain is that the slots are too small for the game. if you have a pool of more than 6 beads, it starts to overflow and can’t really place anymore beads. A suggestion also would be, to include some kind of latch to keep the board closed. as it is right now,…
