Exploding Kittens is a card game for people who are into kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats. In this highly-strategic, kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette, players draw cards until someone draws an Exploding Kitten, at which point they explode, they are dead, and they are out of the game — unless that player has a defuse card, which can defuse the Kitten using things like laser pointers, belly rubs, and catnip sandwiches. All of the other cards in the deck are used to move, mitigate, or avoid the Exploding Kittens. Exploding Kittens is the most-backed crowd funded project ever, the most-funded game in the history of Kickstarter, and has paved the way for peace and tranquility in the modern world.

Fun but not groundbreaking This is a fun short card game that takes a few minutes to learn and a minute to master. Players take turns playing cards out of their hand then drawing a single card at the end of their turn. If the card is an Exploding Kitten, that person is out of the game. There are cards called Defuse that can prevent the Exploding Kitten from ending your game, but they are very limited. There are many cards that that can help a player manipulate the deck like See The Future (look at the top 3 cards),…

Joshua Kimbell says:

Russian Roulette with Kittens! An explosively great time that will have you and your friends laughing, biting your nails, and screaming at each other until eventually there’s a winner. Think Russian Roulette but instead of guns and bullets you have little kittens hell-bent on blowing you into small delicious pieces. If this sounds even remotely entertaining, or if you just love The Oatmeal, or Kittens, odds are you’ll love this game as much as me and my gaming group does.
