Pretty Doll, Fun Twirling Skirt, Needs Hard Surface, 5 Year Old Loves It… I babysit 3 girls so I’m always on the lookout for some new toys for them to play with. The 5-year-old girl that I babysit is really at the doll stage right now so I thought this would be great for her. She LOVES it!
Very pretty doll Little girls and skirts that twirl are an inevitable mix. I thought this doll would mix the whole wonderful world of Barbie with that of Disney and the twirling skirt. In that, I was somewhat disappointed. In trying to extricate this doll from her packaging, I found I had a secret talent for under-the-breath swearing too–she had a lot of tiny tethers that had to be severed.
Beautiful – Perhaps Limited Play Value This doll gets four stars instead of five, (1) because I can’t imagine a worse meta-message than that of a young extremely thin and very very white woman whose only purpose is to look pretty and give a twirly upskirt while keeping her legs firmly together and (2) because I think the fun factor of a doll with this little articulation and no way to change clothes is severely limited.
