Buy 4e if it’s cheaper — Don’t buy 5e if you already own 4e I knew what I was buying before I bought it, but I still wanted to see if 5e was worth it over 4e. Short answer: Just buy 4e while it’s cheaper. There is literally no advantage to moving up in editions, so don’t get your hopes up. You can print the new “clarified” rules online which is actually makes me appreciate the company a bit more after seeing this obvious money-grab.

Extremely happy to finally have my copy of the newest edition … Extremely happy to finally have my copy of the newest edition to the Catan canon! While I would not say that I “couldn’t live without” this newest edition does have much nicer pieces and tiles.
