Shogun is a great game. It feels both like a classic Shogun is a great game. It feels both like a classic, something not far removed from the Risk you grew up with, but at the same time fresh and exciting. At the most basic, Shogun is a game of territory control, you are combating other players (and sometimes peasants) for control of land to score the buildings within them each round. An Improved Version of the Classic Wallenstein Set In Japan! Shogun is a classic area control, euro-style game based on Queen’s famous “Wallenstein” board game with a re-skin/theming set in feudal Japan! The Big Box version collects all the expansions and puts them into one …big box. It’s an excellent value that is only marred (hence the loss of one ‘star’) for dated and dull artwork. I was very disappointed that the ‘Big Box’ version didn’t get a art makeover.
