In an atmosphere of pessimism and charged paranoia, the citizens of Salem are at the mercy of demons; not demons of the soul, but demons of the mind! This game incites the atmosphere of paranoia that held the village of Salem captive. Players act with the assumption that there are witches among them (and, in this case, there will be). Each player controls 6 residents of Salem, 3 of whom are witches. Game play is simple: try to rid the village of witches and keep the identities of your own residents secret. Each of the four rounds has two parts: a Witch Hunt and a Witch Trial, followed by hangings (the dates of which correspond to the four actual hangings that took place in Salem that year). During the Witch Hunt, players send residents to jail and provide alibis for their own jailed citizens. At the end of each round, all jailed citizens stand trial. Players then collectively decide who is hanged and who is spared.

Awesome game! Awesome game! You have to play it a bit to get the rules down, but it’s worth it. Very creepy game – especially if you set the mood a bit dark and have some friends over. 😀 The detail is amazing. So cool that it actually uses real people who died during the trials!

Great, creepy deduction game! I love deduction games, and this one is great! It plays up to 7 players, and really well too. At first it seems that there’s no way you can deduce everything in only 4 rounds. But with the way the alibis work, it’s pretty easy to deduce it all in only 3 rounds! Lots of fun, and all the characters’ histories is an added bonus.

One of the better deduction games out there One of the better deduction games out there. Gather information, use the information to figure out which villagers are witches. If you like logic puzzles with some nice theme, this game fits the bill. I did not have an issue with the component quality. Works best with higher player counts (5-7). Would be a higher rank if it worked better with lower player count. Love the game when I can get it on the table.
