NOW MORE VALUE THAN ANY OTHER SET!!

Dr. Toy Review:

PlaymagsTM Magnetic Building Blocks attract on all sides and the combinations form many different shapes and structures. From flat designs to squares, pyramids, plus many more unlimited geometric shapes. Tiles easily connect, which prompts kids to move from constructing two-dimensional to three-dimensional creations. Magnificent high rise 3D towers are designed by kids who have developed into critical thinkers through creative play. As they build, kids develop tools for spatial problem-solving tasks, logical thinking, and math reasoning. Blocks easily connect and inspire creativity, brain development patterning, shape recognition, building, and motor skills.

The National Parenting Center Review:

PlaymagsTM are a truly remarkable open-ended building toy. Kids and parents alike were captivated and couldn’t stop building and endless variety of shapes, structures, you name it. Each person brought their own imagination, creativity, originality and resourcefulness. The set comes with 150 brightly colored, translucent pieces. There are triangles in three different sizes and two square sizes. Magnets are inserted inside the edges and that’s about all you need to know. The magnets are strong enough to construct pretty solid structures, These pieces got a real workout but never broke or shattered. Parents noted that while the basic idea is building and playing they saw that their children were learning physics, geometry, math, spatial reasoning and architecture without even knowing it.

Works with MagnaTiles. Same quality. Love the various shapes. This is a great magnetic building toy set. I have this set and a set of another brand (MagnaTiles). The two brands are, in my opinion, of equal quality. The magnetic power of both brands is very similar, if not identical. The only thing I see different is with the grommets that hold the plastic together. Both are equally strong grommets, but the size is slightly different.

Playmags vs The Other Brands This is our fourth set of magnetic tiles. The first two we purchased were MagnaTiles brand (a used forty-something piece set without rivets and a new thirty-something piece set with rivets). Once I found out that there were other brands, we bought the 100 piece Picasso Tiles set (no rivets). Finally, because our four year old son literally plays with these off and on all day every day from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to bed (for about a year and a half now), we bought yet another…

Skip these. Spend the extra and get the Magna-Tiles. The reviews looked good, but after receiving these, questioning the quality, and digging deeper into the reviews, it seems that many of them were posted by hopeful Playmags contest entrants trying to win a set. We were excited to get these. The library and some of our friends have the Magna-Tiles and Picasso Tiles and my son loves them. The reviews on these seemed promising, so I thought we could go with the larger set for Christmas.
