Embarrassing quality for Melissa and Doug This puzzle, upon first usage, shredded into wood splinters, piece by piece, as we opened it up and separated the puzzle. There were thin needles of fake wood all over our rug which needed to be vacuumed before we could even begin. The imagery is good but the quality is terrible and shameful. A really nice well designed puzzle When my daughter was 2 1/2 I bought the Melissa & Doug 48 piece Jungle puzzle. I thought it was way too advanced for her but the image was great and I was willing to wait. With adult help it turned out to be very enjoyable for her. I immediately looked for more puzzles and was turned off by all the cartoony and princess themed imagery. These butterflies, however, are great. More difficult than it seems We bought this puzzle for our 4-year old niece, who loves both butterflies and M&D puzzles. We found that the puzzle design is actually much harder than it seems. We wished we had taken a picture of the finished puzzle before we started it. I think it would have been easier for her with a pattern to follow since the design is so complex.Might be better suited for someone 5 or even 6, if you don’t think to take a photo for the puzzler to follow.
